International Academic Alliance (IAA) seeks Academic English teachers and university course instructors in a variety of subjects to teach in our IAA American High School Honors program conducted at an IAA partner high school in China. IAA teaching positions provide Instructors with opportunity to diversify their teaching portfolios and teach rigorous college preparatory English and/or American university credit courses.

Job Description:
Instructors will teach Academic English and/or Social Studies courses within the IAA American High School Program.

For qualified applicants and suitable credit course offering at the school, Instructor may additionally qualify to teach American college credit courses through IAA’s American university partner. American college credit courses typically offered within the Program include: Presentational Speaking/Communications; American History; Computer Science; Calculus I; Sociology; Psychology.

Locations: Public and international schools in multiple provinces throughout China. Teaching openings in the following cities for the 2017 to 2018 school year and beyond: 

  • Zhejiang Province – Ningbo; Taizhou
  • Shandong Province – Zibo; Qingdao; Dongying City
  • Jiangsu Province – Xuzhou City
  • Beijing

Responsibilities:

  • Teachers instruct up to 20 hours per week and spend up to an additional 20 hours per week on lesson planning, conducting online course lecture support, student academic labs and student mentoring. 
  • Work closely with the Program’s Center Director and online course faculty on: Effective teaching of curricula; course delivery; managing or resolving classroom and student issues; and program development and evaluation
  • Participate in ongoing professional development with American teaching faculty, including: teacher training; professional mentor ship with American high school faculty; course evaluation; and program assessment.
  • Provide support for students having difficulty with their coursework and work with students and Center Director to identify and solve potential problems. Coach students on academic goal setting skills development.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree with subject specialization or TESOL certification, and prior teaching experience in the field.
  • Candidates seeking additional approval to teach American college credit courses such minimally possess a Master’s degree in the course field from an accredited university where English is the main form of instruction, and prior university-level teaching experience in the field.

Job Description:

Data Coordination Intern – Hiring for Immediate Position

Job Description

International Academic Alliance is seeking a Data Coordination intern based out of the New York office, to assist with managing and coordinating a student Learning Management System (LMS).

Principal Tasks

  • Work closely with IT team to develop comprehensive system for organization of data across the IAA programs which utilize the LMS
  • In collaboration with IT team and program supervisors, assist with developing new or innovative uses of the LMS to promote smooth operation of student programs.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and regular record keeping for administrative, student records maintenance, and course academic content on an LMS.
  • Follow up with individuals to ensure records are accurate and timely. Track records both paper and electronic.
  • Hold training sessions on effective use of the LMS when needed, aimed at both academic administrators and student users. Develop/enhance LMS usage instructions and training materials for posting on the LMS “Help” section.

Qualifications

  • Current graduate students and upper-division undergraduates welcome.
  • Background in computer science or data management helpful. Work experience with organizing client information for a high-volume services company and student databases helpful.

Job Description

International Academic Alliance is seeking an Outreach Director based out of the New York office. IAA works with international and American higher education institutions and K-12 schools to develop innovative education pathways.

Principal Tasks

  • Plan/execute marketing strategies and develop enrollment channels aimed at increasing student enrollment in the IAA academic programs. To this end, the Outreach Director will:
  • Develop strategic partnerships and generate networking opportunities between IAA and professional industries/education institutions.
  • Conduct marketing research and analyze market potential of programs which can be used to inform outreach and student target efforts.
  • Develop process for outreach, follow-up, proposals and further discussions/meetings with potential institutional and corporate partners.
  • Draft press releases, announcements, develop presentations and generate outreach activities on behalf of company.
  • Expertly present and communicate the company and its programs to the public, prospective students, and at professional industry events such as seminars, fairs, etc.

Qualification

  • 2+ years’ experience in outreach and marketing for education purposes and/or education institutions, preferably in a leadership role.

Digital Marketing Intern

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

This internship offers an opportunity for students to gain valuable real-life work experience in an education management company. Training and mentoring is provided by the marketing team to the intern, whose digital marketing portfolio is developed by the end of the 3-month summer internship. The intern will gain experience in designing promotional material such as brochures, ads, and flyers for online and print, learn how to work with a client, follow projects from design to print, contribute to its existing social media campaign and branding strategies, and create new strategies to enhance IAA’s web presence. This is a 3-month summer internship program, with a total of 20 hours/week (flexible hours Monday-Friday between 9am to 6pm). A stipend of $10 for lunch plus reimbursement of monthly metro card will be offered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to existing social media campaigns through content creation, research, and strategy brainstorming
  • Create designs for promotional material such as print and online ads, banners, brochures, flyers, etc.
  • Assist in developing promotional videos and upload to relevant websites
  • Update content on existing website and create SEO strategies to enhance web presence
  • Coordinate and assist in the organization of workshops and open-house events

Accounting Associate

Position

Part-Time or Full-Time Associate Accountant to assist with administrative, bookkeeping, clerical, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable and payroll duties.  With much of IAA’s programs delivered overseas in China and India, the Associate Accountant must ideally be knowledgeable of American and Chinese tax laws as it pertains to IAA employee’s payroll.  He/She will be responsible for managing the day to day operations as well as creating periodic financial reports for IAA’s management and advisory board’s review.

Responsibilities

  • Daily income/expense reports
  • Budgeting - track & estimate expenses and income
  • Handle bank deposits and ensure deposits of merchant credit card receipts
  • Manage and process payroll through Intuit Quickbooks
  • Sync student information data from the school’s Student Information System with Quickbooks
  • Organize and process check requests, employee reimbursements, and company purchase orders
  • Quickbooks - track student invoices/payments daily as well as data entry of expenses and bank

  • Petty Cash - maintain and track petty cash
  • Communicate with IAA’s consultants, directors, and employees it’s various centers as needed
  • Upkeep accounting system with IAA offices in China  
  • Generate monthly bank reconciliations
  • Generate year-end tax documents such as W2s, 1099s, and 1098s
  • Maintain employee files and record vacation, sick, or personal leave days for all full-time staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or master degree candidate in related field
  • Related experience preferred - basic accounting practices and procedures
  • Ability to analyze and plan budget months in advance
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency of Excel and Quickbooks
  • Ability to solve problems independently and determine best course of action
  • Work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment
