International Academic Alliance (IAA), a New York based education organization, seeks qualified candidates for full-time teaching and administrative positions in the University in the High School (UHS) program at 3 elite high schools located in major cities in China.
- Academic English Program Instructor (2 positions)
- High School Language Arts Instructor (6 positions)
- School Director/Instructor (2 positions)
- University College courses in Sociology, Intro to Communications and Visual Arts (3 positions)
Offered under the auspices of the State University of New York at New Paltz, University in the High School program courses will be taught to high school students preparing for American colleges.
The successful candidate will be expected to travel to China to teach from February 15, 2018 for duration lasting one semester to 3 semesters.
Weekly teaching load: up to 16 hours of class instruction and some office hours to prepare class materials, grading and student counseling.
Training and Support:
IAA will provide logistical support; IAA New York Program Coordinator will maintain contact with instructor to provide professional and personal support. Training and mentoring will by IAA Head of Schools located at the IAA Ningbo office and/or the SUNY New Paltz faculty mentor throughout the academic year.
Salary and benefits:
This is a contract appointment for a one semester to a 3 semesters beginning February 15, 2018 and ending July 5, 2018 or continue for another academic year to July 5, 2019. Candidates for the SUNY New Paltz UHS courses must have a master’s degree in the discipline they propose to teach. Training and teacher mentoring will be provided by SUNY New Paltz, for UHS course instructors however, individuals with some teaching experience are preferred.
